Bad weather predicted for Sat with 45mph winds, so decision made to do unveiling Friday instead. Will be some on pitch interviews with Don etc on Sats game.

Unlike the surface of the fan zone. I’m not sure they could have found a cheaper ‘gravel’ if they tried. It’s not going to last very long and can’t imagine drainage has been installed!

I walked past Don Rogers and John Trollope at a game last season and they looked pretty frail then so saving them from hanging about in potentially gale force winds could actually be a blessing.

Yes. The post on X above was timed at 10:15. I went to buy tickets at noon and the guys were still installing it on the plinth. I took a pic and can confirm the statue was still shrouded in its white protective covering. The flag to be used for unveiling would have been placed on it sometime later. It may or may not still be in place.
