This looks like it might be a bit of pre-season amusement.

Made me laugh. Wonder how long the author can keep it up.

Only for a season though. Should have been done before this and permanently imo

Presumably they couldn’t do it before (as it was sponsored), but agree that it should be more permanent than one season

Nigel Eady is a legend, and its a lovely thing to do.

We know they wanted to sell naming rights to a sponsor though. I'd be interested to see the reaction when this expires in 12 months and its the Cotswold Farm Machinery County Ground (or whatever) and how people feel about Eadys name being 'removed'.

As you say i would prefer something permanent was done.

It does say 'will initially remain in place until the end of the 2024/2025 season' so maybe they have longer term plans.

It's a lovely touch.

Hope so, or maybe have something else as a permanent memorial.
Maybe a statue of him in his seat in the Arikells

I thought a statue/permanent memorial in his seat would be a good idea and I've suggested this before.

It’s definitely the right thing to do - naming the whole ground after him and I said as much when it was purchased. As the three main stands are already named there was talk (just speculation on here) that we could name the Stratton Bank after him but that didn’t seem a big enough tribute.

Would be intrigued to know how much income having the CG sponsored nets us. Like for me, I get it brings in money for us and is an easy win because let’s be honest - apart from on social media graphics no one is referring to it as anything else other than the County Ground.

Particularly as ours is an old stadium. The same way I don’t think I’ve ever called Newcastle’s stadium anything other than St. James Park. On the flip side I kinda get if the stadium is new and your the first name there. Like I still think of Bolton’s stadium as the Reebok because that’s what it was called when it was opened. I guess similar if Arsenal suddenly changed their sponsors most would still call it the Emirates….

Gun to my head - I could not tell you any of our stadium sponsors who’ve had their names in front of the county ground.

I’ve got loads.

I’ve been on not much more than bed rest for 3 weeks. I’m bored.
Thanks for asking.

I still sometimes refer to our south stand as "The Intel Stand" when I'm doing too many things at once.

I wonder if they're planning to name part of the redeveloped ground after Nigel Eady, and that this is a temporary measure until the development happens.

Nice touch.

I've no problem with it being a year but something more permanent after would be nice. Even if it's naming a hospitality suite or something.

Anyone seen any plans for what they are doing in the leg ends lounge?

Bust, next to the DR bust. Coming in a decade or three.
