Wouldn't that be on the same basis as 'his' purchase of the club, ie. they would have first refusal at the same price agreed with any prospective buyer? Hopefully any agreed sale amount would price them out of a deal.
I am far from being knowledgeable on these matters so I could be well off the mark.

I don’t know if pre emptive rights are standard or need to have been included in the deal when Clem ‘sold’ the shares. It has been said Clem’s ridiculously high valuation is, indeed, a ploy to price Kiely et al out of buying the club. Problem is, of course, that also prices most other prospective purchasers. Whether it’s legal to sell at a high price and then Clem to offer some kind of ‘cashback’ to make the price more appropriate, I have no idea. |
