Yes, but his voice adds some authority and reaches beyond the STFC bubble

Maguires last sentence is the more important one.

Both of these point 100%.

And despite this we still have 1,300 fans quite happily give Clem & Co their hard earned money ensuring they have the best part of half a million to end up god knows where 🤷‍♂️

I respect anyone’s decision re renew or not renew.

Problem is would renewing just keep these scum bags in charge even longer

And here in lies the the problem, for me.  The fans of clubs at our level provide well over 60% of the clubs revenue - they have enormous power, if they could only determine how to use it properly.

Imagine being able to walk up to a bank, or other investment option, and suggest you have around 3m in income guaranteed for the next five years.  Someone would likely lend you some cash against that.

The Trust could, and should, be planning the next ownership model of STFC, right now.  To do so, all they need is half the existing season ticket holder base to commit their monies for the next three to five years into a ring fenced fund designed to obtain equity in the business.  As was shown in the months after Morfuni got control, the fans can be easily guilt tripped into spending more.  The ultimate new ownership model does not need to be fully STFC fans financed, but they need leverage to be a part of the future model.  Aiming for something like the German approach could be a possible goal.  It may take a couple of years, but it's time to be doing it.  They already have an asset on the books, 50% of the freehold and 90+ years of lease payments.

As always, it's easy to sit on the sidelines and suggest such things though.  Trickier to get the fans to come together for such a common goal, but if they realise they have the power, just maybe.

I’ve given some thought on the German 50/50+1 model. It’s hard enough to find a buyer of a lower league club yet alone one who is willing to buy just 50% of one and that with the supporters having the golden 1%.

We will still need ongoing investment to progress and I can’t imagine many would be prepared to pump money into a business they only owe 50% of.

Only Robert if only...
Your idea has merit if the club was up for sale with a willing seller at a sensible price.

Might be wrong but that is not going to happen.

That said, plans should be in place for when the fat lady starts to sing.

Your thoughts ?

This is dilemma that a number of us are facing. You'd think it would ramp up the pressure because of the cash flow issues associated with the off season. I'm currently "withholding" my renewal until i see some strategy/direction. Feel taken for granted so this feels like my most effective way of protesting

Can you imagine? It's all so predictable. Some token efforts to get Adams and Brennan only to be told to jog on and then end up back where you started.

Was thinking about Lindsey and why he failed at STFC. A big reason was that it took so long to appoint him, he never seemed or was the first choice. If we went for him straight away and said that he was a brilliant coach under Garner and deserved a go at the top then that would have gone down a lot better than how it did...

Interesting tweet yesterday from Louis Reed's dad on Scott Lindsey.

I've no doubt this relates to Sandro Di Michele and the fact that was Reed was above the age profile and out of contract at the end of that particular season so told not to play him...  Classic Town

Yup, big expectation management fail. Get him in straight away with a load of player interviews saying how key he was in the play off season and people might have bought into him more.
