Surely any American owner/consortium takes longer as they have to work out which big name ex-gridiron person to get involved to get a Prime/Netflix deal going. Dan Marino would be my choice, as he's literally the only one I know.

USA investors are falling over themselves to get involved in English clubs. Knock the Wrexham thing all you like, but people with money here love the ego trip. They also have outsized notions about their ability to make clubs more profitable (even if the evidence suggests otherwise). In their defence, USA investors come with slightly more knowledge on how to sweat the major asset every football club comes with - land & buildings.

Anyway, the one I gave more details about is English, he just has USA investors supporting him and lives over here now. The MLS chap was American. Also engaged with several CEO's of clubs in England and an owner - to try and figure out how on earth to try and get a business model created that could be dangled in front of these types of people. Again, for their own personal reasons, these people do not want to be front and centre, usually because they are simultaneously working on investment deals for their own clubs (as was the case with two of them).

….because they have spilled absolutely nothing. It’s just rumour.
I’ve heard Vince McMahon has put a bid in. Just because I’ve said it do you believe it to be true?
I'd rather someone wrestling related that isn't a rapist or similar, but that generation is slim pickings. Shame the AEW owner already owns Fulham.

To be honest, as funny as it sounds, I’d be sceptical of a new ownership group who were out in the media/public pre sale agreement as much as I would be of a silent ownership group post sale.
Seeing how these genuine consortiums/owners work, it’s rarely the done thing to be public before there’s an agreement in place.
If as rumoured there are genuinely interested parties and they’re the right people then we won’t hear anything until it’s close to being done or done.
Which is the right stance as much as we're all clamouring for it. Remember when we supposedly had Americans interested and they turned out to be Portugese in about 2007.

The answer I was looking for was ‘no chance is hell’ If our potential new owner needs to be wrestling related & have a shit ton of money then it’s gotta be The Rock.

There's an interesting parallel to the "good" Power (Bill) who was public, backed by the Trust and trying to buy off a more widely reviled ownership than this one (Diamandis & friends).
Still couldn't force a sale. We got a very satisfying Pauld radio clip out of it after Martin Starnes had suggested the Trust's funding was American, but no takeover.

What is Ray Finkle doing these days? A transgender owner would show up Forest Green in the woke tables.

…but…importantly; it galvanised & United the fanbase. It got the Trust front centre & highly visible & categorically proved there was an alternative Yeah, it didn’t work out in the end but still personally feel it opened up enough eyes & ears that it made a difference & helped get Diamandis out

I know that is his theme song but he isn't doing much these days, so might not be that far fetched

That is a good point on Bill Power. Went public and it didn't really make any difference.

I was looking for that quote earlier - that explained it. I thought it was Holt. "American and not a fan of the club", or similar. Just to flush out Power really. Later with no irony sold to Best Holdings and the Portugeezers [SIC]

The bit that really worries and concerns me for the future is that with these rumours we often hear how the interested party could only get so far before uncovering god knows what, it does make you wonder if a sale is even possible even if Clem ends up wanting to sell.
As mentioned before it just needs a total clean slate and getting rid of any hangers on. Obviously that wont happen but we can hope. Euro millions tonight, get buying your tickets!

Did it though? I remember doing the protests with the blimp, coffin and what not and we were still getting abuse off fans similar to what we get now. I don’t remember a galvanised and united fanbase at any stage.
