A couple of years back I had cash on Israel at pretty long odds and they were doing really well, then the  public vote got involved.....

Yeah I didn't really understand how that worked but its a good way of amassing massive points if you are behind. Interestingly 3 of the 'big 5' in the competition were in the bottom 3, UK, Germany and Spain.

Amusingly the revised voting system was set up to (amongst other reasons) prevent any country ever getting nul points!

We showed 'em!

Love HMHB. Maybe we should enter The Lancashire Hotpots too with their cracking "Chippy Tea". Think the NW answer to Chas n Dave. A great way of having a good laugh at ourselves. They're good fun live. As is Beans On Toast.

After all, who doesn't love a Chippy Tea Cheesy

Load of bollocks.

We could of had the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Adele sing a song and still got zero points.

BBC bigging it up as usual!

That is simply not true - the sound was poor and the staging diabolical. The trouble is the BBC do not put enough effort into actually trying to come up with someone worthy of winning.

So Eurovision isn't simply an annual contractual obligation for the BBC to allow Wogan and now Norton to just get boozed up and mock European music on live television?

I feel so naive.

Yeah I am inclined to agree with this. Other countries had put in a lot of time and effort with staging and costume and we turned up with a fella wearing a jacket and a pair of trousers too short for him and gave him 4 lads with a trumpet.

Lets chuck someone like Steps in and totally go overblown on the staging. We'd surely get more than 0 points that way.

If it was Steps we would be into minus scores.

Steps are surely very popular around Europe aren't they? At least people would have heard of them anyway.

I would say I agree BO but I think they went for the "Steps" approach with Jemini...
