suspect natural phenomenon is deemed outside the control of the airline, and so will be rejected

it doesn't take long to fill in the form though. At least it makes the Ryanair crooks do some work

Worth a punt if you can be bothered. I recently got shafted by the computer system failing at Toronto Airport which meant I missed my connection to the UK.

Put in the complaint and got the following:

“In this instance, the compensation you are requesting does not apply because the disruption was caused by an event outside of our control.

This flight is delayed due to an unforeseen technology issue impacting one of our suppliers, which is impacting our operations. An example of a technology issue could include an internet outage impacting airport terminal computers.

We understand that you may be disappointed and are sorry that we have not been able to get you to your destination at the arrival time originally planned.”

They then went on to offer me a $100CAD voucher as a gesture of goodwill so better than a poke in the eye.

North American airlines have far less regulation around Compensation vs the EU (assume the UK is still signed up to that after Brexit, but maybe not).

I’ve applied for compo after a data breach by EasyJet. One of these group action thingies.

the UK has essentially adopted the same laws as EU but given it it's own UK number.

Fell foul of Canadian compensation after they manoeuvred their plane into a ladder and broke it. cancel on safety ground = no compo.

Didn't cover the whole of the first night of hotel (claim back) but did cover second night (voucher) and food so we were only slightly out of pocket.

Any tips for a day in Milan please? I'm going there at the end of the month. Been to Rome and Sicily, but not Milan.

Been to Rome and Milan, albeit Milan in 2000.
San Siro, obviously. The metro system is pretty good. Pop to the Duomo Cathedral stop, worth a visit. Plenty of shops and eateries around it too.

No matches on when I'm there, but is there a stadium tour that's good? It was rocking in their last night - great first half, not so much the 2nd.

I guess where doesn't so much matter, Europe and sunny.
4 of us (3 adults, 1 14yo) were hoping to get a bargain ~2k total.

But the problem is the "job situation" persists, so can't commit to anything just yet.

Feel for you with the job situation as that's lingered for many months.
