Yes it is a decent enough base, not too many hotels but a few, nice area but be aware, everywhere is hours and hours drive in every direction (bar Inverness!).
Thanks JJ. I've found a decent place in the centre so should be ok for pub etc. Aware of distances. Its over 600 miles to get there. Next decision is whether to head up to Orkneys for a few days and buy Nemo a pint or whether to head the car down south. |

No worries, I think you will find a trip to the Orkneys will be a lot further than it appears on the map from Dingwall! Nemo can advise you on that I am sure! |

Now that it appears we are safe to travel again, got a few things in the calendar to look forward to. Hoping to be going to Turkey for 2 weeks taking advantage of the Good Friday/Easter Monday/May Holiday Bank holidays but haven't booked anything yet.
We got as a present a 2 day break so going to Lincoln in April. Don't know anything about the City but from pictures it has a 'York' vibe about it and my sister went last year and liked it so nothing ventured etc.
And finally going to Porto for the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. This is third time lucky as it was a birthday present for the wife which kept getting cancelled because of Covid. Hopefully BA won't dick around too much with my 'refund voucher'.
