1st session today pretty much decides the series for me.

If India only get 2 wickets or less, it's pretty much game over.

Roooooot not far from no 2 in the all time list.

Won't go full Qunk with an overly positive pronouncement but isn't the ebb & flow of hard fought test cricket fascinating.
Patience required at times but well worth it more often than not.

Ah yeah, I recall writing that, which means I couldn’t have been drunk. That was strangely optimistic of me, I’m a sports doom monger usually. First and last time.

One of the best to ever do it.

Absolutely no reason why he can't go until 40 if he wants to.

Hopefully puts right the one hole in his CV and gets an Ashes century in Australia.

The record is there, if he continues to love to play test cricket I can't see him not making it his own and then some.

Huge respect for him for many reasons.

I don’t think many would argue against Root being far and away our greatest ever batsmen. It’s not just about numbers. It’s about his calmness, his humility, his competitiveness and his reliability. He’s something else.

Has nobody mentioned how nice it is to have a Swindon lad and former Wilts County player in the test team again.

Not yet, but I’m about to.

It’s really nice having Liam Dawson in the test team. And he’s done a great job thus far despite an eight year absence.

Cricket is a funny old game. England seemingly could've batted forever if they wanted, yet India were 0-2 and Woakes on a hatrick. Momentum is a massive thing. India are completely checked out. This could be finished today.
