Brook bowling didn't help. Shocking and pointless, just gifting centuries

That was only to save the other bowlers for The Oval I think.  The writing was on the wall by then.

Bold of you to assume any of them survive the chop after those previous 5 sessions!

With the way this management usually operate I'd be surprised if we saw more than Atkinson in for Carse.

I agree Carse is the obvious one to leave out

However, would you risk Archer playing 3 tests in a row when he's only just returned from 5 years out?

Went to OT today. Nicely poised at lunch but India batted well to save the game. Ending annoyed me. Milestones should be earned, not donated by pie chuckers. Was wearing the green Town shirt, really wanted Daws to get a wicket being a Wilts boy and having following Hampshire for years. Agree with comments about the innocuous England attack, although 2 drops today, numerous passed the bat on a flat wicket. Could have been different if Jadeja had been caught first ball.

I wouldn't, I think they will. Wood not fit, which is a shame, I think he might have got a game.

I guess it comes down to how they are fitness wise, which none of us really know, but I'd be tempted to change all three specialist seamers. Which isn't ideal with the series on the line.

Stokes out of the final test with an injury sustained bowling. I can't say I'm stunned.

Final test looks like being two entirely second string bowling attacks on a flat pitch with rain about. So probably over in two days now I've said that!

 1. Zak Crawley
 2. Ben Duckett
 3. Ollie Pope (c)

What was that all about the Indian coach arguing with the groundsman😁

As someone who only really watches international cricket - what is the obsession with Jamie Overton? Every time he plays for England he looks miles off it

He can bowl pretty quick, and can hit the ball very hard with the bat. He's one of those whose physical abilities and potential outweigh their stats.

It's interesting because his twin brother is sort of the opposite, excellent first class record but a bit slower (but better!) with bat and ball.

He feels like a "he'll be useful on Aussie pitches" type selection, which he might be if he doesn't break.

I dunno.  It looks weaker but I wouldn't call Gus Atkinson 2nd string.  He's been out through injury.  I think he's pretty much first choice if he's fit.  Bethell is an exciting pick.  Tongue and Overton Im really not convinced by.

We've got a battling line up that can score a lot of runs.  So my guess would be a draw if its another flat boring pitch.

Fully fit Atkinson I agree, but Surrey decided not to pick him and make him play for the seconds instead last week, so it's a bit early for him. Bethell similarly hasn't played a red ball game all year.

Joverton played that game - 0/81 from 14 overs. But we do mostly see people coming in cold and doing pretty well for this team, so hopefully that holds true.

Let’s face it, it’s going to be about either side being able to take 20 wickets. I’m not confident either will unless there is finally a pitch with something in it.

Nice moment just now for Ollie Pope who reviewed successfully stopping his run of 14 failed reviews in-a-row as England Captain.
