At least with Musk you know where you are, it’s that creepy Bill Gates you need to keep an eye on.

Well, when you’re a billionaire you’re hardly working 8 hours a day.
He needs to buy an ailing League 2 football club.

Do you though? He has been a bit all over the place and seems to change with the winds when it comes to who he wants to be online friends with. His fondling of Trump is quite funny, turning a man who would happily destroy the market for his Tesla cars into his puppet. Going all in on the anti immigrant rhetoric, when he is one and likely was an illegal one at one point (he set-up one of his early businesses while under a student Visa, which is prohibited). He's done pretty well for himself, so he won't give a shit what I think of him, but he's just weird.

Come on Gramps, let's get you away from those banal YouTube rabbit holes for a bit. Musk's flavour of the month flip flops more than a fucking jandal tbh. His MO is purely self-serving, and to thus always remain relevant; they're not truly on anyone's side and they don't care who they upset. One week he may piss me off, the following he might boil your piss but he couldn't give a fuck, so long as people are talking about him. Kind of helps when he spunked a combined $55bn on Twitter and a majority holding of the most well known memecoin {DOGE} so his goal for remaining relevant and vanity boosting is instantly much easier. Like him or hate him but at least {once his platform grew significantly} Zuckerberg has always tried to stay fairly dormant or away from the spotlight on his own social media platform. Can you imagine if AsssBook had Zuckerberg boosting the algorithm so everyone saw his and his friends accounts and he was on there every other waking hour telling the rest of the world how they should be operating? I guess the difference is, MZ built his platform from the bottom and grew with it. EM just waltzed in and overpaid for Twitter because his narcissism is that strong, he just had to buy it so he could continue to make himself relevant. The irony being, he didn't need to really. His stock was relatively high when he was just doing tech stuff only and I think most people didn't care for the personality or opinions of EM but whether left/right/centre/alien, many were excited about the things his companies were doing or venturing towards. I'm very much a fan of his SpaceX companies ''Super Heavy Boosters'' which of course return to earth after a launch and often land on nothing much larger than a helipad. Impressive stuff. I really wish that Musk had maintained his focus on tech rather than imposing his opinions upon the gullible and easily influenced - I'm sure he might not have been the ''celebrity'' that he now is but I think he would have retained more respect across a wider demographic of people and admired for the work his companies do. Surely, that is more than enough to be revered the world over for? Seemingly not for Narcissist Musk

I guess it’s no secret that you piss me off mightily with your plethora of inane posts.
In my mind’s eye you conjur up as a latter day Shaggy from Scooby Doo. A bit post student, right-on, knit your own yogurt type.
Flaky as fuck.

What I don't get is why people hold his word so highly. He's built up a couple of companies with some very smart people in it, and you can't deny that is impressive. Though he didn't start Tesla But as a social/political commentator? Demonstrably unhinged, clearly on the spectrum and obsessive. No more "on the case" than the rest of us. Just has a bigger gob and bigger bank balance. Same with any "celeb" really.

I don’t know if people do. Some are just blinded by his wealth and equate that with his opinions being valid.

Yeah that's it exactly. Plus we all subconsciously look for validation of out own beliefs too i suppose.

For me, I reckon the power has gone to Musk's head. His wealth is absolutely mind boggling, and he'd struggle to actually be able to spend the stuff realistically.
Quite why he's getting involved in our politics is beyond me. The most powerful people do tend to behave differently to us mere mortals, as others have said, provably best not to waste any time trying to process it.

Not just ours apparently. Managed to upset a few heads of state across Europe as well. He'll be leading the invasion of Greenland before we know it.

It does sort of answer the usual "why are people in Europe so interested in US politics" question.
This is why. The incoming US president is literally refusing to rule out invading Europe. Mad shit.

He can say things that even Trump might not want to say. He’s a mouthpiece for Trump.
