The majority of the doubters' grievances (mine included) were about the lack of transparency and poor communication. The fact that we appear to have assembled a capable squad should not take away from the fact that many of us had genuine concerns. We were being spun half-truths, had concerns of another Diamandis-like figure in the background with a colourful past, and we had heard from a number of sources that Steve Murrall was getting into dust-ups at the ground. First impressions count - their's was not good.
So it's entirely wrong to suggest that we should not have criticsed this board. McCrory telling fans on twitter that they were wrong to criticise off the back of a five nil win misses the point. The board's communication has improved, they have removed the B&B owner, and there have been no more stories of Murrall getting his fists out. That is a positive, and worthy of praise. It must continue though.
Nobody has done as far as I can see. The concerns were, and in some cases still are, valid ones. It's just unsurprising that those who are very quick to criticise are totally silent when it comes to praise.

This. I personally well always remain aware and have that little bit of doubt....because the time I/We did completely let our guard down due to good times, we found ourselves in the Andrew Black position.

I've been quick to do both.

Way to early, to take the r word out of your consideration...of the 16 games Cooper has been involved in as cone collecter, caretaker or gaffer...we've had one away win at Yeovil, but 6 consecutive defeats...4 home wins, but only against 2 different teams, Stevenage and Crewe.
The away form definitely needs to show signs of improvement in the league...the cup win was welcome, but it's the nature of cup football that sometimes you get an odd result thrown up.
It's best to stick to old saws, like take each game as it comes, get to 50 points and then see where you are etc.
The problem with that, though, is last season's games were with KMac in charge of a completely different team. People are basing their expectations this season on what they have seen this season. And pretty damn good it has been as well

I've been quick to do both.
Not saying that there aren't plenty of people who have been both critical of some aspects whilst praising others, just that there is (and always will be) a minority who will only ever complain and do so extremely loudly and repetitively - especially at the County Ground

Agree with the fact you cant rule out relegation (although I don't think we will, personally) and also that away form does need to improve, but there's no point bringing last season into it. Different attitude, different squad (bar 3 or 4) and different manager. Doesn't matter that we beat Stevenage and Crewe twice, it's still 4 games and 4 victories.

The same team? Really? And this is a negative because?
Bringing Cooper's record as an assistant a bit mental too.
Agree about the last bit though Reg, take each game as it comes. Not ruling out relegation either but based on what I've witnessed so far I would be very surprised.

Of course Reg. How remiss of me to not take into account Cooper's managerial record with us when he wasn't, errm, manager.

Can't recall off the top of my head but McCormack springs to mind. The comments are usually about early training and veeeeeedeos
Poor lambs, being made to work for their wages. It got results though. So far so good with the new players and new methods this season too, just in case anyone assumes that's a dig.

The Board emphasised at appointment, that they wanted continuity, which was them sitting down with KMac, Cooper and making decisions, therefore he had an input into those end of season games.

If you need to go back to the days when he wasn't even manager to state a 'case' then I'm encouraged as it must mean he's done a pretty good job so far. You keeping on clutching at those straws Reg. Personally I'm going to judge Mark Cooper as a manager on how Mark Cooper does as manager at Swindon.

This bizarre logic means the current cone gatherer, Luke Williams, is going to be England manager within 5 years.
