Very happy with £350,000 as long as its re-invested, Flint was second choice to Troy at the start of the season anyway, so we already have a ready made replacement.

Does anybody know how Troy's injury is coming on?

Last I saw he was pretty pissed at having to 'rehab himself' (Source: Twitter), so I assume he's still on the road to recovery - no clue as to how close he is to reaching full fitness though. A few rumours abound that his surgery wasn't that great and his recovery was slow, but no idea how reliable any of that is.

Wasn't he unhappy recently that he wasn't getting any help from the club for his recovery? Or I may have imagined that.

Taking my own love of STFC out of the equation, I would probably do what Flint has done - better money, longer term security, less uncertainty around the club, and Bristol is a nicer place to live than Swindon (if he doesn't already live there, it's not a bad commute). Also, we've a had a good few years of service, made some money, and may even profit from a sell-on clause in the future. It is potentially a good move for everyone involved, if we are shrewd in the transfer market in the next 2 months or so.

£350k plus add ons for a player who has handed in a transfer request, more than double what we paid.

Take the money and lets move on.

Haven't we also kicked him out of the hotel he was staying in at our expense due to the bill he was running up...

350k is fantastic for someone who can't kick a ball straight.

It does have it's lovely parts but I am guessing you haven't travelled around much of Bristol?

I have, but he won't ever have to experience that, I'd imagine.

I believe the flats behind Ashton Gate were used for the opening titles of Only Fools and Horses.

The pubs and bars in Bristol will love his custom.
