Perfection is not attainable

« Reply #45 on: Saturday, February 23, 2013, 09:52:21 »

Why would we go out of business? The budget is different now Black's gone and di Canio is fully aware of that. The u turn that many have made over PdC is staggering.  No doubt they'd be back on side if he was reinstated.

I would welcome him back so he can finish what he has started but I feel he may have burnt too many bridges, I could be wrong but I hope he comes back, but as it is we must carry on like he won't be coming back.

To be fair he knew what the budget was under black and still wanted more, cannot see him wanting to operate under a smaller budget.

But we shall see just want it sorted one way or another.

I honestly think he regrets his decision, it didn't makle sense at the time and still doesn't make sense now. He had nothing to lose to stay until the end of the season.

I would take him back in a heartbeat.

... and go out of business. The club can't afford him and his entourage. If he had been satisfied to operate within a budget unmatched in most of the rest of the division this situation wouldn't have arisen. If he's as talented as many suggest he would have been able to do so.
it's true we can't afford to live the way we did. I'd take him until summer and then both parties can decide whether to continue. We have the players he bought until then plus a couple of loans..

As long as he was happy to work with the budget set by the board and McCrory as chairman was strong enough to keep him within it, I don't really see a problem.

Success costs money. Are this new board gonna throw some money at the club or what? If so then might aswell use the fella who has so far delivered thegoods. If not then why are they here? Banking on redevelopment cash in I think.

I can't see anyone slating Di Canio the manager... Just the Di Canio who walked out when we needed him, so all this nonsense that we should still be rimming him as he was amazing for us is ridiculous, yes he was amazing for us, then he left us in the shit....

Had he waited 2 days more we'd have a new board (and hopefully some stability). He didn't. So why are some saying that fans can't feel let down by him??

Yes he was great, I loved every second but he fucked off... I'm not turning on him these are just the facts (said in Benitez accent).

This is pretty much what I think.

Of course there is still a rumour floating around that Di Canio's resignation hasn't been officially accepted.  If this is the case, does that mean he's still being paid in which case, a u turn would be quite straightforward?

At the end of the day even after all this the best man for the job is still Paolo Di Canio full stop.

Regardless of how much money the new consortium has or doesn't have, has anyone else considered that Paolo might not want to come back? Or that he may not be happy to work under budgetary constraints after the open wallet policy he was operating on before? We're basing this on a story printed in the Mirror.

Could mean they're planning legal action against him for breach of contract.

Not convinced by the new board but that's who is here so we move on. They should at least speak to di canio and if nothing can be agreed then fair enough, employ someone else.
What this new board are about is the biggest concern though.

Bit early to be making any real judgments given they've not even had a press conference yet

Exactly...we need to keep a very close eye on what they're doing. It's good that we have a few experts here, like Si Pie, Samdy and Paul D, who are well versed in the jargon of business law..
