I popped on Sky Sports News yesterday and there was a program dedicated to transfer news. There was a panel of 3, plus the presenter. I soon realised that I had no idea who any of them were. I think they were podcast/youtubers, pretty sure they weren't ex-pros.
Not to say they don't necessarily know what they were talking about, but it didn't feel right. I guess I need to embrace change.

Yeah, they are YouTubers / social media personalities or whatever the correct term is. It’s Sky appealing to the none match day going casual down the pub arm chair fans who have chats with ‘normal’ people like these down the pub - it’s their target audience. It is what it is & times have changed. It used to feel like a news channel but for Sports but it’s now massively moved on from its rigid news like structure. Plus, obviously no Georgie Thompson |

After seeing TNS get into Europe, Wrexham, Newport, Swansea and Cardiff now want to be Welsh again and play in the Welsh cup so they can qualify for Europe. They obviously currently play in the english leagues and cups.
Should be told they cant play in the EFL and FA cup if they want this to happen

100% this. I recall back in the 70s Liverpool was touted as becoming part of Wales and be their capital city in the Process. Wales even played 3 of their home games at Anfield in the 70s as trials for various reasons. Lets them all fuck off to their own leagues, Cardiff and Swansea can become Celtic and Rangers with Newport being bit part players like Aberdeen in Scotland. The whole inter UK country cup was another explored in the 70s but I think it would be very good option instead of the EFLT, have the first 2 rounds as own country based and then a free for all draw from then on including Wales and Scotland teams. |
