1974/75 season home to PNE. I think Bobby Charlton was their manager. For years I believed we drew 1-1 but Ploughman says we won 1-0. I was 5 and have never recovered! Loved it then and still do.

I'm not entirely sure when my first game was. The oldest programme I have in the attic is from 1994 (possibly the 3-1 win over Oldham but would have to check) so I guess that was probably it.

I can never remember exactly but it was either Hull or Wolves in either 1989 or 1990. I think we won, whichever game it was. One of my earliest games was the play-off win at Wembley. I remember absolutely nothing about the game but have vague memories of being in awe at the sea of red and white on the tube.

I drove to the Sunderland play off game . Parked in a hotel car park, my mate winding up the Sunderland fans by calling them Geordies

Seemingly they were very gracious.

We went by coach, and had a bottle of champagne on ice if we won. The Sunderland fans we met shared it with us & wished us good luck. The Leicester fans a few years later were quite the opposite
