November 2nd,1976. Drew 1 each with Palace, evening kick off. Walked up the steps in the (then named) north stand, saw the pitch lit up & not exaggerating when I say my life changed that night.

Not since 1975 then…  Hmmm

I have exactly the same first impression as you though. Seeing the floodlit pitch and the advertising hoardings as I crested the steps of the Shrivvy Road, feeling like this was the big time, and was hooked in that instant.

First game: Swindon Town v Crewe 1995 (can't remember the date)

I was 8 and all I can remember was my dad saying about how good Neil Lennon was, which turned out to be true!

August 1978 - League Cup game against Portsmouth which the Town won 4-2.  If I recall correctly, there were some escapees from the Town End who ran the length of the pitch to confront the Pompey fans on the Stratton Bank before the kick-off.  There was a bit of a scrap on the pitch before everyone went back to their respective end and the game started.  Hooked from that day forward!

With it being pre season and all that I thought it would be a good time to start this again - for those like me who didn't post last time. My first game was aged 8 with my Dad in the Town End seeing us beat a strong Liverpool team 2-0 in the league cup 3rd round with Sir Don scoring a brace. Mostly downhill since!
