...can still remember the total and absolute joy and excitement when Town beat Burnley..... One of the few (only?) times I've been in tears at a football match. Firstly having the visit to Wembley snatched away with that last minute equaliser from Burnley, then when the final whistle went and the realisation that we'd made it. In a way my favourite game ever, with that anticipation of what was to come.

Ayr United 2 Swindon 1 02/08/76. Lived in Ayrshire and so Dad took me along with family visiting from the West Country. Dad used to take me to all Ayr United home games as he gave a lift to their right back's Dad who lived down the road. All that is apart from the Old Firm as I was too young ( to see all that entailed.

19th March 1994, Man U at home. 12 years old - had been listening to radio commentary and wanting to go all season and my mum finally relented! Was on Stratton Bank and it was brilliant, well and truly bitten by the bug - managed to get to all the remaining home games that season, followed by season tickets in subsequent years. A couple of memorable incidents, including the Cantona/John Moncur stamp and Mark Hughes running into a fist emerging from the Shrivvy Road stand... brilliant.

Watching the town fans holding up the red A4 sheets of paper (mocking the mancs previous games discipline).

My Grandad took me to Swindon v Oldham - turned out to be a 0-0 draw - what an introduction ! Apparently it was on 27/4/1968
Next game after that was the following season v Bradford City in the League Cup where we were two down early on, and won 4-3 (I think)

Two things I remember about this game. 1. Good finish by Steve Cowe. 2. Darren Moore went down "injured" in apparent agony but was able to get up and miraculously sprint back to defend. The crowd duly giving him stick.

Did we really only get a crowd of 12,400 odd that day?! Crowds really have gone up, generally, in recent years, haven't they?

Fairly sure my first game was in 79/80, I think against Mansfield or possibly Exeter. I always thought that it finished 4-3, but looking at that seasons results it must have been this one. Around the time of my birthday so I suspect it was my birthday treat http://www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk/MatchCentre.asp?MatchID=19800135
