Lets fucking hope so!

PDC's already said he and Clarke will be the 'main two'.

I'd say Connell is better than De Vita based on seeing him hassle defenders a lot more often, bring the ball down on occasion, win an few headers, and showed better ball control when taking on defenders. I imagine he'd score 10-15 goals easy enough if he played every week. I'd be less expectant with De Vita.

For a fairly slight player I was impressed with the way he was bringing the high balls down - Judging where the ball was going to land, taking position a couple of paces forward of that point with his back to goal and shielding the ball from the defender. Showed good skill to bring tough balls under control as well.

I'd agree with that. Looked decent with his back to goal from what I've seen. A couple of decent turns against Crewe and on sunday and a good knockdown for Flint's shot against Daggers. I'd certainly rate him as more of a threat than De Vita.

Between AC, Kerrouche, Magera and Clarke we look to have plenty of striking options on paper. Hope they can start to show it on the pitch in the form of some goals!

Sounds like Magera is going to be an intelligent footballer who is slower than a week in prison.

Should mean that more balls are held up in the attacking areas and he should be able to bring others into play. Hopefully this means we become more potent up front.

We shall see!

I don't know if it's because I'm surprised at how excited everyone seems to be... but my socks are still on.. for now.. He certainly seems to have some good experience under his belt. Far more on his CV than any other player you'd expect to sign at this level - for someone still in his prime at least.
I'm really looking forward to seeing him play. Hopefully he is the answer.

I understand that he is the blow your socks off player mentioned by PdC/Wray earlier in pre season and has always been our main target, not the Uraguayan/Austrian etc etc.

And to be brutally honest....how many other clubs in our division would have the temerity to sign a current Czech international, not Trinidad not Malta not Lithuania not Icelandic but a full Czech international.

That is a bit of a massive coup on our part, purely down to PdC I think.

Same as you.

I've never heard of him, so not excited to be honest, but seems like a good signing though, so will wait and see what he looks like. Hopefully he'll be playing against Bristol City tomorrow night.

Yes, but you know that if a player has played for Brazil that he must be quite good even if you have never heard of him. Similarly, anyone who has played (recently - not 10 years ago) for the Czech Republic is not a complete donkey. He's going to be decent.

Get excited FFS...what are people afraid of?

You can watch him on Youtube. Not in a package of closely clipped highlights put together by an agent but in almost whole matches. The game against Scotland shows what he can and can't do. It also shows that the Jan Koller thing isn't quite true, he's far smaller and more mobile.

Interview with him on STFC Player. Speaks fairly decent English.

He knows we're in "Liga 4" and wants to get back to "Liga 3"!
