Right.  Just back.

I listened to a stream of fucking idiots on Radio Wiltshire saying sack wilson, sack the board, we're going down!!!!

Get a fucking grip you pricks.

It wasn't a perfect performance, however it was good and I was heartened by it.  Toothless up top but thats to be expected at the moment.  Hopefully it will be remedied come monday.

It felt to me like they'd had a weight lifted from their shoulders, almost as if a bad influence or something that wasn't good for the focus in the dressing room had been removed.

One thing to be remembered.  All season we have played well against good teams and lost against shit ones.  So 2 points against the lesser teams and 2 clean sheets is a damn good start.  I sincerely believe things are going to get better from here.

A far better all round team performance and we really should have come away with three points.  Exeter didn't really get a look in in the first half and we could easily have been 2-0 up come half-time largely due to the presence of Alan O'Brien.  That was a surprise wasn't it?

Unfortunately we were unable to break the deadlock and then as so often has happened this season, we didn't really push on as we should have in the second half.

The defence looks so much more organised with Frampton in there.  However, we have now bought 2 new CBs, so does that mean he will make way for one of them?

Dossevi was crap again and I really don't understand why he was left on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.  The whole being caught offside is truly wearing.  As others have mentioned, today would have been a perfect time to give Billy Bodin a bit of a run out, but for whatever reason Wilson doesn't seem to want to.  Why keep putting him on the bench if that's the case?  Also, Timlin should have come off and been replaced by Ferry, but again it didn't happen.  Quite honestly it did at one point look as if Wilson was happy to play for a 0-0 draw, which I find ludicrous.  If he thinks results like this are going to keep us in Leage 1, he's more clueless than I thought!

Prior to the game I heard Jeremy Wray on the radio effectively saying that we would have a striker/strikers in by Tuesday and felt reasonably positive about things.  However, Wilson's after match interview where he talked about being 'hopeful' and emergency loan signings has made me doubt this.  'Hopeful' is quite frankly not good enough.  I'm sick of the fannying around, we knew Austin was going and players should have been lined up to replace him immediately. We've got got a good chunk of money and if some of this is not spent on decent permanent signings, there is no doubt in my mind we will be playing League 2 football next season.  Fitton and Co will have a great deal to answer to!

Trying to get me banned as well with all the friggin Poole updates

Since you asked  Wink:

A surprisingly comfortable win for Poole.

A well worked early goal that Preston got through a crowd of players.

The game then got a bit niggly with a series of cards, not helped by some dubious refereeing decisions. This resulted in a second yellow for Chris Smith from Xchurch - a soft sending off - mouthing off?

Then just before half time Dann Cann struck a great second goal for Poole. It was a comfortable first half for Poole who were rarely threatened.

The second half was all Poole. This was Poole close to their best - playing some really nice passing football. They did have the advantage of the extra player but this was still very encouraging.

The third goal came only 3 minutes in. Preston broke in to the box and was brought down. Bizarrely the ref only gave a yellow. Micky took an excellent penalty.

With the game (in theory) won, a series of subs gradually took place - Jeffes for Cann, Sturgess for Browning and Taz Roberts for Poore.

This did not affect the flow for Poole who continued to play good football. Chances kept coming.

Jeffes got his first for Poole - he tackled well to win the ball, then shot which got deflected in. Hopefully that will give him some confidence now.

Michael Walker got no 5 from a headed corner and then Preston wrapped the game up with no 6 - a great run and finish.

Xchurch seemed demoralised by the end.

I thought Micky Hubbard was exceptional today but the whole team played well.

Second clean sheet in a row.

Well done boys.

Fitton out?!  Oh dear.  Some of our fans really are a little hard of understanding.

However, I think it is true to say that the next 48 hours are crucial.  If the players that we desperately need to rebuild the squad do not show up, I think I may start to question whether there truly is the desire at board level to build something here...as opposed to simply maintaining the club at its current level having saved it 3 years ago.  The crowd of approx 8,200 today was outstanding given our league position, current form and that the club we were playing was a relative minnow.  The fans have responded to the board's recent initiatives - so it would be tragic if next year the momentum had completely gone and we were back to 5,500 on a Saturday.  A waste.

Since Wembley, I've not heard as much from the board as I would have liked to.  The stadium plans may be well advanced - but the detail that (I think) was promised at the AGM has not been made public.  On the playing side, we've done it to death.  The 2010/11 season will be the one that never really was because we let key players go and did not adequately replace.  I suppose all I'm saying is that - in the past - I've been an ardent supporter and advocate of this board, and I wish to remain so.  But we really need to see some action, and a show of intent, in the next 2 days.  If we don't, I will start become a little nervous about whether they truly have the appetite to take us forward in the way we would all want.  I want Andrew Fitton to transform us in the same way that John Madejski transformed Reading.  Hope it happens.

Excellent post Ardiles.  You're definitely not alone in thinking like this.

Spot on Ardiles, the board have been conspicuous by their absence in recent weeks. I do wonder about how enduring their commitment to the club is, however they must be given the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

Absence from where exactly? I don't know what this means. Fitton or one of the other Directors is on the radio every week and they are always extremely up front and honest. There are also regular quotes from Fitton in the Adver. What do you want from them? You wonder about their commitment? Benefit of the doubt? What makes you think these things? Am I missing something? Help me out here Huh?

Think you're being incredibly harsh. We have no idea how much they've been upto, they could just have had a load of bids rejected for all we know. Wilson even explicitly mentioned today how much Fitton and Wray had been doing, citing the signing of what he called an 'exceptional talent' in Misun as an example.

I was going to write a long post about pessimists, the board not having to answer our every whim (because some of us are a little bit pissy), today being a good performance (although I didn't go, so can't really comment) and about the good post of gk_nash. However, I'm a bit monged out and simply can't be arsed.

I'm about half a page of mong short of going crazy with the ban nuke. Wink

Fuck it. Tomorrow is install an ignore button day. That'll save having to ban people and give others room to read and post. Selectively. Bang and the dirt is gone.

There seemed to be a similar feeling in the stands as well. I enjoyed todays game more than I've enjoyed a match for a long time. I even thought the ref did ok.

Much better today. Probably one of the better displays this season.

Wilson always plays down transfer targets, personally I didn't read too much into that.
