But not very surprising. A large number of Muslim parents will give their child the name Mohammed and then use a middle name for everyday use. I don't have the figures to hand, but would imagine that maybe as many as a third of Muslim boys are named Mohammed.
To put things in to perspective, there were less than 8,000 Mohammeds (incl all other spellings) born last year in the UK out of a total of more than 700,000 live births.
