Probably my most illiberal (or Grinchiest) opinion is that fireworks shouldn't be sold to the general public, and only used in organised displays. Mind you, I thought that before I got a dog so I'm probably just a miserable bastard.
Happily, not too many explosions and very much clustered around midnight up here in the back of beyond.

 I do have 2 dogs who are both terrified of them. But I knew they may be before getting them and just don’t begrudge people who may not have dogs, or have dogs who are oblivious to the fireworks letting them off. Like I said, it’s twice a year. My 2 are now flat out without a care in the world again. |
