Helping the old chap in the bed by the window feed himself. Give him some encouragement and some tissues to dry his eyes. Poor sod got himself in a right 2 & 8. Turns out he’s missing his late wife who must have gone a few years back.
He seems a bit more settled now which is good I can hear him talking about her to a nurse. I’ll go chat with him later when they’ve done their rounds, put a lump in my throat that did.

And continuing care in the community I’ve been playing tunes on my iPad from yesteryear getting them singing, humming and farting in tune. Seems to have worked on my bestie he was singing away and smiling which I take as a positive and now they’re all asleep. Numpty here for two night running is wide a fucking wake taking requests from nurses. Maybe a new career beckons after I leave.

Yes. Well, sort of. Firstly it helps if said pigeon is dead. They tend not to be happy chappies stuffed into a pie while still alive. Just as importantly they need to be plucked and dressed if using the whole carcass. Tip, they do benefit from being hung for a week. Another tip. Don’t piss about plucking and dressing the thing. Just slit along the breast bone, peel the skin back and eek out both breast fillets and Chuck the rest in your neighbours garden or if you actually like your neighbours in a local hedgerow or some such place and the foxes will do the rest.
Hope you are now ok mate, hospitals are horrible places I have spent many months in them as an in patient and they zap your will to live. Enjoy your health while you have it and take nothing for granted in life. Hope you get out soon. |
