Havent read back to see if anyone posted this but it did bring a smile to my old ugly face. All too often footballers are considered to be heartless in the media yet something like this happens and too few even report it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56086665Really decent from McBurnie, particularly given he doesn't even play for Swansea any more! Perhaps Rashford is leading the way for more altruistic acts from footballers (not to say they didn't happen before Rashford, but he is something of a precedent, I think)

Great gesture by him, these random acts of generosity need to be more publicised, not all footballers are greedy money grabbing heartless animals.

Fair play to him, pity there weren't a few more about like him.

I dunno about the "old" bit though That's a wonderful gesture. If more things like this were highlighted people may think a little differently. Although I am aware that several footballers don't make their "charity" public, as a downside is you then get leeches (as well as some very desperate folk), who will nag them to do something for them. Unfortunately sometimes, those are false plights too. Difficult when you know you should probably be a little more philanthropic and can afford to do so, yet aren't legally required to do so either.

Also as I state above, some just don't want to go public with it either. It's sad that it is like this but being wealthy and charitable (publicly) brings its own set of problems. An easy example being you make a kind gesture once and then media or public start to ask when the next donation or gesture is coming. That isn't have giving works. It shouldn't be an over pressurized commitment. Regardless of wealth/time/interest.

Well, we've gone full Mumsnet now. Yes - you need the crumpet rings for the pan, and a big flat pan. Also, leave the mixture for a good couple of hours to allow it to bubble before you get to the cooking bit. Then only fill halfway, they will rise. I found cooking on a low heat for longer worked best. Now, beer and stuff..........

I used to make frying pan sized crumpets when in China and chop in to quarters, could get them to look really good and be fluffy but they always lacked a bit of flavour

Flavour?
Who needs flavour in crumpets when you have heart attack inducing quantities of butter?
