There was something in there about no success in the league will replace the ability for the local press to cover the club.

Near enough what I was alluding to and just as ridiculous

No, the mighty Dan will have a press pass

He's just followed me on Twitter. He must be spectacularly dull.

When? Nothing of the sort in this week's column.

I think this might be interpreted that way...

But no success in the Football League or cup competition will ever replace the ability to have a full and functioning local press covering Swindon Town.

Channel hopping and finding Grimsby v Barnet on BTSport 2. Barnet have just brought on a sub who glories in the name of "Gash" (presumably known in the dressing room as "Utter") which has rendered the commentary unintentionally hilarious. Well, mildly amusing in a very childish way anyway

It's just a shame his career presumably didn't cross over with that of Julian Dicks. Or former Portugal keeper Quim.

Npower being helpful for the first time in a very, very long while. Recently got a letter from a debt collectors, saying I owed 90 quid from an account at an old house from 3 years ago. We paid it off when we moved but after speaking to s couple of Npower bods they were no help at all, kept getting bounced from person to person, department to department. Took to their twitter help account, which the girl on the other end of agreed it seemed odd there'd been no mention of it for 3 years, no letter sent out until the debt collectors got in contact despite me still being with npower, and she said they had lots of problems with accounts of that age so she 'paid off' the account at her end, recalled the case from the debt collectors and closed the old account. Job done!

We had a big leaflet thing through the door for the Labour Party this morning, and amongst other things it says 'Inside: Labours plan for the NHS' on opening it had a menu for the local Indian takeaway tucked inside!

They have secured my vote....

Cooper going in goal for the U8s/U9s Academy kids' penalty shootout:

Nice touch and great to see he can make time for the kids even on a matchday. Sends quite a different signal to the kids as to how they're valued than some other managers we've had recently...

Maybe you have to follow them to see the page? Is that just a standard twitter thing? I'm nothing to do with the Academy, just follow them on twitter which is how I got to see it?
