Islam isn't a race. Stating 'a little bit of me died' after saying it was turned into 'an Islamic centre' (what's wrong with the word mosque) doesn't look great does it?
I bet you all think it's political correctness gone mad and read the Daily Mail.

what the fuck is wrong with people.
the slightest little thing and they bring out the racist card.
and what pisses me right off is the probability that privately they are just as worried about the ever increasing numbers coming into the country, but in public they go all fucking liberal.
That is what has made sensible debate on this issue nigh on impossible
Totally agree. Say it as it is: If someome is white he is white. If someone is black he is black. It can't be racist only one way. These PC muppets are losing our country.

People's views are going to be a bit more nuanced than that. We don't live in a binary world where everything is left/right, BNP/Communist, Daily Mail/Guardian. Many, many shades in the middle. For me, I wouldn't let a copy of the Daily Mail in the house. Disgusting rag. But I certainly can understand Reg's regret that the working class institutions on which the Swindon that he knew were built are making way for the institutions of a culture from elsewhere that he has no connection to.

Fair play...proper good old Swindon Working Mens Clubs, are a historical treasure not likely to last much longer. When the Gorse Hill Club shut, and was turned into an Islamic Centre, a little bit of me died.
Paul Cook from there won the 89/90 News of the World darts title ffs
Probably wrong(as usual) but didnt Paul Cook play for the Cheney club? Talking of darts,Dennis Smith was playing in the Ferndale last night ,i think he still plays for the Fox and Hounds.

Good of them to post all the pictures so we could judge whether or not it was a fair decision.

Realising that Im being paid to sit in the very beautiful city of Lucca, backstage at a Stevie Wonder gig. Sometimes I love my job. And also knowing that this is the last of 3 weeks of shows and this time tomorrow Ill be on my way home to see my family.
The catering of Penne with mushroom and octopus washed down with very good espresso also helps my good humour.

I was rather expecting the octopus to be the point where people lost it.

Had some beautiful octopus in the restaurant in Porto last year. Extremely tasty.
