On holiday in Italy ( Sorrento ) go to a bar, my lad had his Swindon top on, the manager comes over  and proudly points out his Swindon Scarf over the door.

Having an extremely crap work week for reason I may go into sometime at a later date.

Got home to a free £10 voucher for John Lewis or Waitrose. No real reason other than I used their website (ages ago for a click and collect). Its the small victories like this that cheer you up in life.

The key here was the ages ago bit.  Clever marketing, get you back in and the chances are you'll buy that expensive set of cushions meaning the £10 voucher is small fry for them.  Not knocking it, great way of working when companies do it well.  Tesco are the kings at this.  Buy some ham, swipe the club card, don't buy ham for a few weeks and bingo, extra points or money off.  That's probably over simplified it, but their analytics team were so damned good they set-up as a separate company I believe.

Middle lane drivers to be fined.

Not sure how the old bill will enforce it though.
