Stewart Lee is a top bloke, much less moody and grumpy in real life, I have shared a few beers with him in Edinburgh, his comedy is very hit & miss though.

Chuffing love me a bit of Stewart Lee. Sitting about two rows back from the front when I saw him in Swansea was one of the most terrifying and enjoyable comedy experiences of my life. You honestly are on edge as to whether he's going to leap on you and start shouting in your face. Can't think of another comedian anything like that.

I just love the way Stuart Lee's routines build so gradually, starting quite calm, slighty rambling and repetetive, and somehow over the course of about 10 minutes he's buit up to a full on rant, almost without you noticing.

I recently read his book "How I escaped my Certain Fate", There's transcripts from 3 of his shows with really interesting footnotes.
He obviously loves deconstructing comedy and the performance as a whole which sneaks into shows quite a lot.

I like Top Gear, including all three presenters. But I also like Stewart Lee.
I'm now caught in a spin of rhetoric and implied values and a bit confused as to which I am/am not supposed to like.

This almost ended in the '...mildy annoy you' thread, but the ending saved it...
I'm stood at the Shaw post office counter, collecting their post and in mid-conversation with the postlady when a letter is shoved into my face, in the space between my face and the counter glass. No "can you take this please?", the balding ginger cunt just stands there, looking at me. I've already got the letters in a sealed bag so can't take it off him, so tell him to stick it in the postbox thats 5secs walk from the counter. Before I've finished, he's shoved the letter onto the counter, "fine, she can take it then" and walks off. I'm stunned at how much of a cunt he's being, despite him wanting a favour, when the postlady says "it's ok, it'll stay here overnight now." Made me smile. Ginger guy is a cunt (and no, it wasn't Axs...)
