Found out this afternoon I've been offered a place on a teacher training course, starting in September. It's more than trivial but didn't think it merited it's own thread.

Ahhhh congrats v jealous

Cheers all (bar tans, obviously, you cunt). History, donkey. Just trying to work out the difference between PGCE or QTS only routes now (bar £2,500) so I know what I'm accepting!

I'm a History teacher myself...happy to help once you're up and running with your training.  Not too sure on the best route to train these days, but if you want to pm the differences between the two routes and your thoughts I'm happy to offer my best advice (such as it is).

getting some reviews trickling through for my book, don't know if this was from anyone on here, but it made me happy

'well I'd never heard of this author, but liked the idea of the storyline, and it was a good price, so I went for it - and didn't regret it! The story twists and turns, keeps the interest levels high and is very well written - so much so I searched for other novels available by the same author but couldn't find any - will wait eagerly for any follow up books!'

cheers if it was!!!

Seeing my name credited on the band's CD I do some work for...its at the end of some impressive names including  Bruce Foxton (the Jam and SLF), Steve Norman (Spandau Ballet), Mark Brzezicki (Big Country)Steve Cropper (Booker T and the MGS and the Blues Brother) and a certain Paul Weller  Smiley
