Yeah, been to Germany many times and have met some great people, always enjoyed my time there.

Great people, great beer, but shit food.

One thing about Germany, and places like Poland, Czech Republic etc, is that people generally look so much healthier than your average cross section of Swindon for example...far less mingers, and far fewer fatties.

Listen very carefully, I will say this only once: Beer, football, sausages, Germany is a great place in those respects. Shame about the slightly cheesy music fixation, dodgy mullets, etc.

See london_red I said you would like Germany, the music there's right up your street  Wink

I used to have a dislike of all things German and loved beating them at football (not often but whenever we did). In recent years this has gone and I have a lot of like for the country and its people now. The countryside is stunning.

I stayed in Majorca a few years back and was at a predominantly German hotel. Everybody was impeccably behaved and courteous. As few doors away was a predominantly English hotel full of football shirt wearing pissed up chavs. It made me realise what a dreadful nation we can be.

As someone once summed it up to me, they are like us in every way but better (except hair, music and food).

You're right, they are cunts.
I have met a couple of nice French people, but on the whole they're a bunch of cunts.

How's that?

Perfect.

Living in Luxembourg I have the displeasure of being in the same vicinity as them. To be fair a few I work with are tolerable but on the whole they are a hateful bunch.

They can't drive, they are rude and ignorant and from what I can tell from their work pattern, the whole French race share 1 immune system. We get 35 days holiday allowance a year yet they are always crying off with Gastro or a cold etc. Pathetic bunch.

Ha ha. You're right, but you're completely missing the point / fun. Yes, they're hypochondriacs, they're selfish, they're arrogant and they have absolutely appalling taste in music. All the reasons why I used to prefer Germany. Then I discovered that the best thing you can be in the world is a Brit living in France. You get to hold on to being witty, generous and have great music taste, but add long holidays, great social protection, world-beating food, drink, countryside and cities. Learn to love the difference!
