I recognised one of our old supply teachers (Joy Lofthouse) on a TV program about Spitfires the other day. This made me smile.

During the war she was a delivery driver for Spits, Hurricanes and a variety of other planes. Wish I'd asked her about it at the time as I remember now one of the other kids did mention it, but was too busy messing about because we had a supply teacher.

I am sure we had a Mashiter on a customer database at my old work.

Roger Maring was my personal favourite (had to really be said with a Scottish accent though)
