The only thing more boringly predictable about St Georges Day than lefties saying "He wasn't even English" is middle-aged right wingers getting in a foaming lather about "not being allowed to celebrate" it despite the fact that all that is stopping them from doing so is their own apathy.

Ah, there we have it. Confirmation that it's politicised to a right wingers event. The thing I was moaning about in the first place.

It's nothing of the sort. It's just a saints' day, like many others, that some people like to have "hot takes" about. And other people, such as you, then like to get all shirty about. Both as boring as each other. If you want to celebrate it, off you pop, no-one's stopping you.

I used to belong to an organisation that used to parade through town centres for St George's Day, with flags and the lot.

So there.

I just find it a pointless thing to celebrate.

But then I also find it pointless to celebrate Christmas and even birthdays. I'm a bit of a nihilist when it comes to stuff like that.

I think my misses probably has some black eye-liner around somewhere...

Martin Costello on Adver comments saying a negative story about him has been constructed by the establishment because they're 'running scared'.

Gave me a good laugh.

Made my first Baba Ganoush this morning, slightly bitter but a quick google search explained why this might be (followed the recipe to the letter) and have done as suggested. Hopefully letting it mellow for the rest of the day might help. It’s not bad as such but nowhere near the mouth watering delight of the Lebanese restaurant I visited up in the smoke a few years back.
