My little boys face when we drove into legoland, we had kept it a secret.. It was so worth the money just for that alone.

Man, I still remember coming down that driveway as a kid. Good times.

Watching the ISS go overhead for the 2nd time this evening just a few minutes ago - just over 1½ hrs after watching it the first time. To think that it's completed an orbit of the planet since the first time I saw it at about 9.20pm is simply awesome (in the true sense of the word). http://www.isstracker.com/

It's the size of a football pitch, roughly 250 miles up...which actually makes it the most visible object in the sky after the sun and moon (and planes etc., obviously). I'm actually getting quite attached to it. Sounds daft, but I look up when it's going to be passing most evenings and stand out at the front of the house to give the fellas up there a wave.

I saw two excellent meteorites last night. The first east to west short sharp bright light. Second north-west to south-east slower not as bright but broke into two right at the end of burn up, amazing, never seen that before.

Just to be pedantic, they aren't meteorites until landing on the ground which is relatively rare, most debris burns up.....until then they're meteors. August is a good month for meteors.
