Saw that on the BBC site. Looks like someone has marked the tree for felling and spray painted a cut line pre felling. Very odd.

Where are these 16-year olds getting chainsaws from?! Middle aisle of Aldi or something?!

Not in the same league but there’s a developer here who was building some new houses/Bungalows on the old allotments here. Right on the border of the land was an old tree with a preservation order on it.
The developers just turned up one night & cut it down & basically just shrugged their proverbial shoulders and said don’t know why it happened.
They got a small fine & had to plant two new saplings (that probably won’t survive).

Much like the Crooked House pub, gutted by a fire and then bulldozed without permission two days later. Pricks.

Nothing's changed, still managers taking the piss, management ignoring agreements made and staff leaving in droves. September saw Delivery Office staff starting their new Christmas season hours, starting 24 minutes early per week... but everyone else is the same, my DO runs still leave the mail centre at the same time, so the staff are hanging around waiting for me to arrive each morning.

Morale is at an all time low, so many people I know have left or are leaving/looking to leave. Really sad to see.

Thanks for clarifying, from the outside it seemed things were ok.
