It’s not the numbers, per se, it’s the disparity between countries. Surprised someone, somewhere hasn’t come up with a plausible reason.

Using that link from a few posts up, it seems the Ruskies and Chinese are too busy drowning instead.

https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/23812085.meca-defends-katie-hopkins-show-swindon-amid-calls-cancellation/

While I hope she falls over on stage and face plants breaking her nose, why on earth should a venue be protested to cancel such an event?  She is not breaking the law.  By all means, don't go and counter her vitriolic mouth when she publishes stuff, but surely she is free to perform wherever will have her.  If their are mugs willing to listen to her "comedy" then more fool them.

Pension/investment funds mostly I think. Government debt is (mostly) as safe as it comes for investors.

Where do they get it from?

Us?

So we end up paying tax to repay national debt which is our money anyway!

What a scam.

Each other, borrowed from and lent to. Similar to business I guess. All works until someone says I want it back, as in Lehmans.

Only if you’ve got plenty of money.  Doesn’t make any difference if you make less than 1k a year like most of us do, not like you Jimmy - Millionaire.

My money is tied up in private pensions and the family home although I paid the mortgage off when I turned 40
