The fact that the FGR matchday thread is locked.
I wanted to say that the reason why I think several of the FGR players were booked (and Bunker sent off) wasn't because of the fouls they committed, but because of their reactions. I think that telling the ref to 'F off' is a bookable offence this season. I listened to Horseface after the game who suggested that the booking were down to naivety, which I translated to petulantly abusing the ref.

Yeah I didn't get that. Why is it locked?
I think PV was either having a senior moment or wanted the last word or both!

Mods have a button that closes the thread after posting which is quite easy to press by accident.

One FGR fan said that the 1st half was the best they'd seen FG play in 18 months.

I think we contributed a huge part to that!

Rising costs. High inflation rates lead to interest rises to cool people's spending, but the goods with high price increases are commonly essentials such as food, fuel and utilities. Genius. Car insurance is another, you have to have it, and in theory the insurers could set any price they want. I remember the days where retailers would undercut competitors to encourage custom. Don't seem to get that nowadays.

They’re not allowed to do it now, thanks to the FCA regulations. They used to offer discount at new business to get you through the door, if they do that now they’d have to offer the same price at renewal for all other customers so would in effect potentially lose money on every policy. I worked for a large broker and we would add commission to the underwriter cost, often at new business we would apply negative commission (hence offering a price less than it cost us) to get the business. The money was then made on interest (if you paid monthly) or additional products.

Why are the A Level results top of the news items every year? Sure, they’re important to the students and immediate family but nobody else.

It'll be the wine, basically "high alcohol" wines are now much more taxable, and "low alcohol" wines aren't. But most commercially available wines are in the "high" category and the producers haven't adapted yet. My local wine seller is fuming about it.
