That fucking Omaze advert that seems to be on every single advert break when I watch ITV/Channel 4 these days. I know you've got to be 'in it to win it' but surely given there are laws against gambling adverts before 9pm (I think) then this is kind of classed as gambling?
I find them annoying as they are promoted everywhere...however it's a regulated prize draw so not gambling. Yeah, I know mate

Yeah, I know mate The bit in the last one that particularly irritated me was when they said what you could do with your prize. "You could live in this lovely house worth upwards of 2 million quid" "or you could rent it out" "or you could sell it" Well, thanks Omaze, i'd never have known what to do with it without your fucking helpful insight.

LMSAO - yeah these are exactly some of the reasons why. Who knew you could possibly cash in on a house you have full equity on. I'd much rather have the G-Tech Air Ram {or whatever it's called these days} ''Inventor'' bouncing around with his West Mids accent telling me...'This is the bist cowdlass vaquowm cleenah yoo cud evah need' Back to Omaze though...I wonder if they actively encourage people to sell and they have some kind of re-buy system in place? Something like... Omaze purchases x Properties for the purposes of a Prize Draw Omaze encourages winners to sell within a year of winning properties Omaze advises on an agent/vendor that they can conveniently provide Omaze rebuys said properties and can start the cycle all over again It's not a bad earner that pays for itself really. Buy a 5Om GBP portfolio of 2m value properties. Even if they only make something like 4m GBP from their prize draw subscriptions per property, that's only 4OOk participants paying/donating the minimum amount. With the house value then taken off/reinvested on future properties, marketing deducted and the remaining net 80% going to charrideee. Omaze then pocket/earn the remaining 20% as their profit really

True but the yield, hoops to jump through, ballache and potential HMO ruling could mean it's not really worth it and costly. Probably easier to sell a four million pound property with limited tax implications, since it's a prize and then buy a nice isolated one million pound rum shack somewhere away from all the world's misery - live out the days on the remainder...maybe set up some initiatives to keep ticking over in some form of philanthropic way At least you now know what I'd do

there are loads of competition websites, not just for houses.
But some of them are unregulated.
Take revcomps - how can you even tell they are legit?
I've tried looking up winners in the past but almost all of them had limited social media presence.
lots of repeat winners
could be totally above board of course, could be a complete/partial scam
without regulation, how do you know?
just want to know that if I pay £7 for a ticket that I have a fair but miniscule chance of winning

Apologies for having some mini rants today but Twitter, or 'X' or whatever the fuck it's called. on the 'For you' section, it's always a rag bag of random shit, quite a bit of STFC stuff, other football things, videos of people falling over and often some batshit crazy stuff from Le Tissier and other goons like him. I generally just scroll past stuff, or have a little read at what people are saying. But a couple of times I got really really irritated by Laurence Fox, and on more than one occasion I clicked on the three dots and told Twitter I am not interested in anything that this douche flag has to say. I've done this more than once, at least 3 times. Today, I scroll through Twitter and there is a little section called 'creators' which I guess is based on an algorithm of things I look at. First one, 'CCTV idiots' - Yep, fine I like looking at people slipping on their own sick. Second one 'Off topic football' - looks shit but I can understand why it was suggested. And then, in the middle of these two, my final suggestion is someone I have actively told Twitter, on more than one occasion that I have no interest in seeing his content, it's only Laurence Fox again!

I do it with ads - makes no difference. Plus, what really gets me goat, is the continuous repetition of tweets over and over again. And, while I think about it, why can’t tweets appear in chronological order.

I never really understood Twitter, never signed up, but why you'd want to be on it given Musk is actively trying to destroy to give himself some fun is beyond me.

I only signed up to see Ian Jiff's mini highlights he did of Swindon games.

At the moment, twitter is the best way of following football when you're not at the game or listening on the radio. If it's no longer viable to use for that, I'd probably give it up

I use it purely to follow Swindon and some local non-league clubs around Bedford, and no more than that. So i have no problems with it. i would never follow people or read all the garbage on there though, total waste of time to me.

I can only assume there's a conscious decision to promote the twat at Twitter as, despite all the people I follow in politics being very much in the other wing of the political spectrum it repeatedly suggests him as someone I might be interested in. Either that or the good people at X, or whatever the fuck numbnuts is calling it this week, realise that their platform thrives on conflict and want you to follow people that drive us fucking mental.
