Is twitter becoming 'X'? Mine still looks exactly the same as it has always done.

Mine's changed to X on my laptop this morning but my android phone and iPad apps haven't yet.

Not in the least bit trivial or mild but the whole story about Farage and Coutts is so skull-crushingly depressing in the bandwidth it's taken up in the news cycle and it's fallout.
Absolutely everyone involved has managed to come out looking like complete fucking mugs, all played like a fiddle by a bloke who should have been irrelevant since 2016 but still somehow manages to pull the strings to make him the centre of his own toxic universe and bring everyone down to his base level of idiocy.

That Natwest CEO must have had something about her to get to the level of profession she was at, which makes it all the more baffling why she'd expose herself to the risk of being in the wrong in this shit show of a story that farage has managed to spin up himself. It's a private fucking bank for christ sake, they can choose who they do business with, but they dont need to go blabbing to the media about how or why they are doing what they're doing.

And of course now Farage's fruitcake followers think they're now justified in wanking themselves into a froth over a conspiracy that banks are "unbanking" sections of the general public based on them being a bit brexity on facebook. Wasn't long before this rudderless government were jumping on the culture war bandwagon to start painting bankers as being too woke (fucking bankers!!!!). Shall we play a game of which other disgraced CEOs the Tories have championed for being stood down?? it'll be a quick one.

All of this because a bloke who paints himself as anti-establishment, anti-elitist, threw a hissy fit over not being allowed to bank with ultra-establishment, ultra-elitist bank, Coutts  Suicide

Talking of fruitcakes....climate change deniers now thinking they're on to something because they think weather reports are covertly using ground temperatures these days (as opposed to the long established standard of air temp at specific heights), and that the colours used on the bbc fucking weather maps have been deliberately changed to peddle alarmism. All whilst large swathes of southern europe are being burnt to a crisp on unprecedented levels. FML.

I can imagine the ven diagram of folk who buy into either story isnt far off representing a perfect circle.

The discourse in this country has been totally bat-shit for a long time, but it feels like its plumbing new depths right now, everything feels so totally hopeless. God it's depressing. Crash

Totally agree with you Webber. This desire to be as anti main stream media as possible seems to be en vogue.

If you distil this story down to 'should the CEO of a bank survive having spoken to a journalist about a customer' it is pretty clear that she had to go. Would it have been okay if she'd been blabbing about King Charles' accounts, or Mrs Miggins in Number 32? I think not. Of course Farage has leapt on it but she absolutely shafted herself. No one serious could think this element was in any way survivable, and for the board to back her was quite mad.

Yes. Farage is the nauseating king of self publicity but he's right on this one.

What I don’t understand about Coutts/Farage is the bank saying they junked him because of ‘Reputational damage’. I thought banks and their accounts were confidential and Farage is hardly to publicise he’s a client - so who’d know they had him as a client?

They’ve got their bundles of notes in a twist as they’ve come out with various reasons. All debunked but that aside they breached the most important rule of the financial charter. Irrespective of one’s opinions of Farrage that’s a big no no and anyone further down the hierarchy in the system would have me frog marched out the door without a second thought.

That fucking Omaze advert that seems to be on every single advert break when I watch ITV/Channel 4 these days. I know you've got to be 'in it to win it' but surely given there are laws against gambling adverts before 9pm (I think) then this is kind of classed as gambling?
