Brilliant songwriter, seems a bit of a dick.
tbf, he just made an inconsequential post on twitter about a minor incident in his life. Which is kind of what social media is for. It was the Adver that decided this was news because scraping stuff off FB and Twitter is a lot easier than actual reporting. Or learning grammar, syntax or how to spell or any of that other difficult stuff.

Not basing my opinion on that, just stuff I've read about him in interviews and biographies over the years.

*Tangent alert* I always liked Barry Andrews' stuff, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that the two excellent albums I recently downloaded By The Veils are in fact none other than Barry's son Finn. He doesn't seem to admit any Swindon origins though.

The Veils were great. Pretty sure they packed it in a few years ago now.

Swinton Insurance, ffs. Just changed my car insurance to them. I originally told them I had 7 years NCD, turns out I had 8 years.

Got an email from them asking me to get in touch as there would be a change to my premium and if I didn't they would cancel the policy.

Called them same day, got it sorted (£1 per month deduction!). Week later got another email saying policy would be cancelled.

Called them again to sort it - end of.

Then, today get a letter, no less, again saying they are cancelling the policy. Fucking useless twats. Got another 20 minutes to look forward to listening to muzak.

make sure you check the insurance database online. A company once neglected to add me back after wrongfully cancelling my policy and subsequently reinstating it). I only found out when the police pulled me over in the centre of Bristol and were threatening to impound my car.

I was with swinton for a while a few years ago. I'm now sent junk mail, texted, phoned and emailed on a regular basis by them.
I've not encountered this much contact with any other company before. They are annoying to say the least.

This and the days summary from the Court is pretty much their only source of "news" now.  Not even sure they bother with turning up at the Planning committee anymore, as that would invole someone being employed locally.  It's why so much now goes to print with the final line stating the other party had not contacted them for comment - i.e. had not responded to our e-mail we sent yesterday afternoon yet.

I think your forgetting the great complaints stories, ie. my grass has not been cut in the last week, usually with half a page picture of a group of people with arms crossed.

They still managed the most entertaining article ever; Trapped in my own home (Matttessgate)

They could have just glossed over it, though!

£360 million quid of the tax payers money to revamp Buckingham Palace as it hasn't been touched up for 10 years! Poor queeny!

Good timing that, just after a report on the dearth of public, affordable housing.
