I disagree, if that is allowed in your lefty world Ells. Well probably not actually. As discussion with a socialist is not allowed most of the time as you are always completely in the right, to the point of having screaming fits with anyone who doesn't like your opinion.

I am very well acquainted and surprisingly very knowledgeable about the latest feminist stance and can offer reason and evidence that refutes it as a cancerous tumour on the face of western society. Most of it is derived from females hating men as their mothers fucked up their relationships as they were either complete arseholes who their partners didn't want to live with or alternatively gave their bodies away to get pregnant (slapdash). I'm not saying that applies to you but that is the source. Resentment to males and the whole "male patriarchy" argument is not helping men, who have started to stay clear of getting involved with women with a very large degree of justification. Then there is the whole "let's cry rape" syndrome which is yet another victim stance.

I have had many conversation with women who completely reject feminism and I really admire them. They know that they need a man for normal and social reasons, as the provider of resources, for healthy love and sex, for security and to give them a home and an umbrella for bringing up their children. That is what is important. Not some hysterical reactionary ideology that alienates men.

Ok then Jayo. Let's get empirical with this discussion.

I have fathered four children. A girl aged 27, a boy aged 24, a boy aged 21 and a girl aged 19. Surprisingly enough with me being such a tool, they all have boyfriends/girlfriends and happy, healthy relationships and what I think is considered "normal". Feminism is not on any agenda. Perhaps it is because they were brought up in a happy nuclear family.

I think Alan may have an opinion, rightly or wrongly, that there are very specific evolutionary differences between men and women, and as such both have relatively defined roles in a relationship which he sees feminism as being the complete polar opposite of being equality for equalities sake.

Given he is pretty much an advocate of disbanding the State, "extreme" views would be par for the course.
