Umm, yes, that Feminism is a movement aimed at gaining equality for women, which I am against. I'm against equality for men as well. We are not all equal, so trying to strive for it in everything is pointless. Striving for the removal of discriminatory practices and thoughts, fine.

What about transgender people?

What about them? on an individual level they'll have their own life where they'll be good at some things and not at others. Who they are is neither here nor there, they should have the "right" to chose to do whatever they so desire, but I'm not about to ensure they are equal to everyone at everything.
The LGBT movement is a little different in that it generally focuses on the discrimination angle, which is fine. Nobody deserves to be discriminated against due to an arbitrary characteristic, aside maybe from being from Oxford, but the movement, as far as I am aware does not set out to ensure that every institution has just the right % of people in roles to the same degree that Feminism does.

Although how and why Transgender ended up in that movement is beyond me. A very different set of life challenges - North Carolina, I'm looking at you here.

Interesting you mention Oxford as it is quite a good analogy. There are feminists who hate men and talk shit? Sure. There are Swindon fans who get drunk and piss on policemen, doesn't stop me calling myself a Swindon fan.
I believe in the ultimate goal of women being equal in society, which is basically feminism. I'm not responsible for anyone else and how they act.
Trans issues are important because if you believe in a strict "men/women" are different dichotomy it seems feasible to ask where they fit in?

Violence against women, the pay gap, the way women are constantly sexualised, lack of representation.
I'm completely with Rob and 4D on this. The reality is that women do have an equal footing with men in our society today in nearly all aspects. Where there are differences that is because of the fundamental distinction between the sexes. Males are physically 60% stronger then females. Females can multitask. Females are designed to nuture and care for offspring. Men are made to focus one one activity at a time and to be very good at it. Third wave feminism is about flaying men to the bone, not "equality". It is about pushing the narrative that men are hateful patriarchal misogynists to the point that woman become dominant in society. You never hear a feminist standing up for men's rights - because we are "equal" - for example starting a campaign for male parental custody (15% currently), insisting that women should be front line soldiers and get slaughtered in the Middle East in the same numbers as men from IEDs (men at 99.5%), wanting the same in work death rates as men (eleven times more likely), that men are five times more likely to commit suicide than females, three times more likely to be homeless than a woman, double the prison sentences of women for the same crime. But the root cause is the same old same old socialist - a soft label for communist - rhetoric. That we are all supposed to be "equal" and here Rob's point is well founded. We are not. Never have been. Never will be. This is what evolution is all about. The survival of the fittest. Whatever attributes they are, physical, intelligence, biological resistance, GENDER. To attempt to level the playing field means that everyone suffers and that the continuous dumbing down of the population, removal of acclaiming success, degradation of educational standards and attainment benefits nobody. This is what angers me, the deliberate skewing of society into a dead brainwashed sheep culture to the benefit of the few who hold power and continue to push this agenda as they fear any thinking that could upset their gravy train. Feminism is just a facet of this lefty nightmare.

Why do they have to "fit in"? Who cares what they do and what they wear or what relationships they have? I don't, as long as they don't attempt to force their views on me or anybody else. That applies to every other "minority" as well. Whether they are black, green, blue, homosexual, aliens, Oxford fans, LGBT, train spotters or practicing goat baiters. Who gives a fuck? The only people that really do are those who are social justice warriors who are aggrieved on every one else's behalf, want to be the victim by proxy when in fact there is just a made up outrage and argument that gets them virtue points. My real world experience of people I have met who are in a minority is that they are generally happy in this country, getting on with living and loving in their own quiet way. STOP IT PLEASE

Yet depite your social Darwinist dystopia, women are still amongst us. It's a funny old world.

Nil points. In the words of It's a Knockout.
I think women are wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous, interesting, enthralling and above all sexy.
But then I'm just a simple man...

Survival of the fittest is a false dichotomy. Evolution (by natural selection) is actually about survival of the most adaptable. Other than that, I actually generally agree with every point Alan has made. It's just you come across as such a prick sometimes it's hard to want to agree with you.
I also dislike feminism, but then I am also a massive lefty so fuck knows where I fit in.

I'm a feminist. I think if more men were feminists then the job would have probably been sorted by now.

I think feminism has indirectly messed up family life for working class and to a lesser extent middle class people by being taken advantage of by "the system".
Don't get me wrong I absolutely think women should be treated equally to men.
But now, instead of the option of being a stay at home mum to raise your family as was the expectation in the 50's/60's and 70s, women are expected to work full time as well as bring up a family. Wages are so suppressed that very few families can afford to have one partner not working.
We've all been had people.
