There was a test case about this fairly recently with some Orang-utans who took pictures of themselves on a camera given to them by a professional photographer. The (perhaps unsurprising really) judgement was that animals can't hold copyright.

As for this case, the horse owner has about as much legal right as the horse itself, so she's made a tit out of herself for no financial reward. Might make you smile or feel good, that.

Definitely made the horse smile!

The same but slightly different. In that case, the monkey pressed the shutter and took the picture and the photographer was trying to claim copyright so that he could monetise the photo. The court ruled that the copyright belongs to whoever pressed the shutter and does not lie with the owner of the equipment. Unfortunately for the monkey, the court said he didn't have the copyright either and so he didn't end up a rich monkey.

The grammar on the BBC website. It was Impeccable until 3 or 4 months ago, no idea why it changed but in virtually every article now there are errors, spelling mistakes or general  laziness. example below.

According to Germany's Transfer Market statistics, Super League teams spent £81m (108 euros) on players and coaches in the 2014-15 season, making it second only to the Premier League.

Some fucker is trying to access our rdp servers. This bloody ransomware thing going around is a nightmare.

Lucky we have good security in place and complexity passwords as essential.

Be aware kids.

The battery on my phone, keeps dropping massively (just now from 48 to 14%) and I've got barely anything on it.

Ever since I downloaded a software update on the iPhone it's got progressively worse.

It's an iPhone "feature".

If I turn my Android phone on with the charge being at 40% or below the battery will die in 5 minutes.

I think the crux is battery development ain't keeping up with mobile technology.

As in, you have to get the next iPhone to get better battery?

As luck would have it I'm due an upgrade.

Do you close all of your unnecessary open apps or have you got a gazillion running?

If not, then put it on Flight Mode and sit in a darkened quiet room. That will do the job.

I'm also becoming less tolerant of poor presentation.  My particular bug bear at the moment is road signage.  At least with a poorly-writtem web article, you can take it down and edit it.  With a road sign, it's up there for 10 years or more.  Can it really be that difficult (sorry - I'm going to go full Meldrew here) for someone to check it over for presentation & consistency before putting the sign up?

Compared with signage on the Continent (and I'm thinking of Germany and the Netherlands in particular), our signs look as if they have been thrown together by a class of 8 year olds.  No attempt to align or, sometimes, even use a consistent font.  I also hate the UK protocol of putting the next route number in brackets (which looks messy); and much prefer the habit on the Continent of showing the destination first and putting route numbers in boxes.  Looks so much neater.
