It should be.  I hate the way we dick about with counties/local geography here.  The Americans or French would never stand for it.

I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment, however as Greater Manchester has been in existance longer that I have been on this planet its probably ancient history now and we should move on!

Doesn't remove the fact that I have to arrive there at 10.00 tonight on the train stay in a Travelodge and then leave again at 0646 tomorrow morning. Soulless misery!

We have a job to do next week in a prison. It's not a big job, but it is money in the bank once it's done. We're having to look around for a technician that can do the job for us though because the guy we usually use is afraid to do it. He's afraid to do it because he's convinced, for whatever reason, that going to a prison will give him 1 year's bad luck. He's a grown man for the sake of fuck.

I was told monks have to be consulted about a good day for me to get married on. I said that's fine, so long as we can keep asking monks until we get the answer we want.

Superstitious loons.

When our little boy was born, we had a choice of a few days to choose from for his birth as he was a c-section. One of those days was May Day. We were told by some that we should not choose May Day for his birthday because doing so would mean that he would have to work hard every day of his life.

We told them not to be so fucking stupid, our little boy's birthday is on May Day.

Presumably that's the last job you'll ever offer him...?

Actually, no. He'll get more jobs from us. He's otherwise very reliable and good at what he does. They're hard to find like that out here. It's even a credit to him that he let us know at all, many would just not turn up to the appointment leaving us looking like dickheads.

That doesn't make it any less baffling though.

he was a c-section

"C-section"

It annoys the fuck out of me. I was a Cesarean section myself. Why shorten it, it's not exactly a commonly used phrase?

It makes it sound all hip and trendy to me  Angry

Note to self: Use 'c-section' at every given opportunity.

It may annoy you, but that doesn't make you automatically right. Either is acceptable; as are the multiple different spellings.

It must be the early association with sharp implements.

Sorry John, it really does make me right. My mum never, ever said that abbreviated phrase in her life. She was always correct about everything. You lose.
