We have young lady who works in the team, shes 21/22 and she's lovely but her vocabulary irritates me. Apparently is the hip thing to to do these days, to shorten words wherever possible.
Examples:
Totes (totaly)
Amaze(ing)
Ridic(ulous)
So on and so forth.
Another term she uses is "smash" in the context of really enjoy something. Such as "I'm gonna smash this cup of tea"
I'm so not down with the kids.

If I call somebody, and thy tell me their battery's about to die, then I get to the point. Why is it that when some call me and I mention my battery is about to die, they choose to have a discussion about why the battery is dying, or whatnot, instead? Fuck-wittery abounds.

I've been wondering this myself. But I'm also wondering if it's maybe inspired by the popularity of Chris Hadfield and the hype is not just about a Brit going up, but also about more coverage of the ISIS than we've seen before. |
