I've conditioned our office to know exactly how were doing. I constantly have Arse, Chelsea and spurs fans coming up to me and their knowledge is really good now. It used to be who? Now every Monday they can tell me all the stats good or bad. I'm actually pretty impressed they've become engaged being plastic prem fans.

I've actually converted a few people since I've lived here. I say converted, I mean they look at our results in order to judge how moody I'm going to be.

But still, more little Welsh fellas who pretend to support Liverpool taking even the slightest interest in league 1 football can't be a bad thing

Why are you in Wales Ells, out of interest? At university?

My youngest daughter is looking at Cardiff for a degree btw.

I live here for family reasons. I went to uni in Bristol but I did apply for Cardiff, it's nice there and I've known a lot of people who've been there. Could do a lot worse.

Once upon a time Welsh plastics used to support Leeds...it was a John Charles thing, there are those who will tell you that John was the finest player our island has produced. Don't suppose there's many left that can relate to this, but you might find a proper football fan if you display this knowledge.

Been passed fit(ish) to return to work and die for the cause. Just need to work out the details of a "phased" return, in my managers mind that will 100% a 100% of the time from the off, HR hopefully will be a bit more circumspect.

Funny you should say that.. I do know a man who met him several times. Talks about him in almost God like terms. Sounded like a wonderful man.

There are a few Lids fans with surprisingly Welsh sounding Yorkshire accents, but most people are Liverpool or Chelsea. I think many defected to Chelsea when Liverpool stopped winning things.. They're probably in a bit of a quandary at the moment.

I told some Welsh guys in a working mans club in North Wales that they sounded like scousers to me. They were not impressed with my accent assumption.  Smiley

Ha, they do though! Parts of North Wales are practically in Liverpool, it shouldn't be surprising.

I spoke to a Welsh Liverpool "fan" a few weeks ago who didn't knows who Ian Rush was. If collecting plastic fans were a card collecting game that'd have to be a shiny.

I passed a pub, a while back and some lads were outside about to go in for a game....one says to another, don't fancy Chelsea's chances much....matey says...don't care I'm Man City now. The advantages of being a plastic, you can just change.

I see there was a story recently about half and half shirts. It's pretty sad.

I have a pretty legitimate reason to support Spurs so one of my friends recently suggested I switch because we've been so shit. My suggestion was he play in traffic.

It's especially astounding to me because when I said things like "I can't afford to go to White Hart Lane" he said "so?",  as if going to watch a team you support is completely mental.

I saw the half and half thing, that article was far too forgiving. But then I suppose it was on the BBC, and they have a vested interest in people having 4 teams!

On a different subject, overly friendly/chatty people in shops.

Don't get me wrong, I hate rudeness, and "how are you" is nice, but I really don't want to tell my life story to a man serving me coffee on a train. He was asking me where I was going, what my plans for the weekend were etc. just give me my caffeine!

One of your days no ones going to give a fuck, you might think back to today. I do get where you are coming from to a point. My angle is i come from a sales and service background and this person may have to as part of their role engage you and you could be a mystery customer. Or you could be steaming hot and he fancied you? Either way my first point still stands. Have  you had a good day? Looking forward to some fireworks? 💊 just in case.......

Good customer service is identifying and responding to the individual needs of each customer as an individual, not trying to engage everybody in conversation. It's also annoying when your the person behind the person being served, not great customer service for them is it?
