Having £197 worth of direct debits taken from me, despite cancelling said DD's 2 weeks ago after moving house... SBC, Thames Water, and TV licensing being the culpable fuckwits on this occasion.

Always cancel with your bank as they can't do this then.

It they were cancelled with the bank, they should never have been debited from your account and the bank will be at fault.

If they weren't cancelled with the bank, but you did cancel with the respective companies, then ask your bank to perform an indemnity claim. The bank will refund you the money, they then have to ask for it back from the company.

Offers which are a con.

Got vouchers for 500 nectar points when buying fuel from a BP garage - something for nothing, surely.

Like fuck it is. Diesel at BP is £1.44 when it is only £1.34 at Sainsburys own.

Capitalist fuckers!!

I think I had this through the door myself. I;m sure you can actually just buy a Mars bar (or something small form the shop) to get the 500 points. It's certainly what I was thinking of doing as I'd never pay for their fuel, so fingers crossed.
