Jesus, totally stop working, or "just" the servo assist? Scary.
It happened on my way home last night too. Everything cuts out but doesn't, if that makes sense - I can't accelerate and the brakes are nearly useless and then the car refuses to turn over when I switch the engine off

eek. Assume its headed for the menders PDQ.

Wonder if it won't start because of the break failure. Seems sensibleish to me. Less so if you get stuck in the middle of a road though.

Hey, its not a Volvo is it.
Seems like it could be as simple as a bad battery->bad contacts -> bad scu Sad

Covonia throat spray. It's so good I sometimes use it when I am perfectly healthy. Active ingredient is benzocaine (same as Bongela) and it's a liquid so should cover the ulcer. you can get from the pharmacy counter in Boots.

Popping to Salisbury tomorrow so will give it a shot. This may sound like a 4D question, but if it's behind the pharmacy counter in Boots won't I need a doctor's note or something?

I'm not ill enough to bother with medicine very often alright!

No, it's not on prescription...but you do tend to get the Pharmacist's advice etc..

Pretty much, not for rectal insertion. You know, the usual.

Yeah as Darlo said, they keep it behind the counter but they will sell it to you if you don't look like a crack whore.

There's a random advert, for the life of me I can't remember what it's for, but there's celebrities listing things they like.

Nick Hewer says "A good looking horse over a hedge".

Doesn't particularly annoy me but it just catches the ear wrong.

You can also get Ultra Chloraseptic Anaesthetic Throat Spray which contains Benzocaine and is available on the shelf in Sainsburys and Tesco if you can't be fucked with the Pharmacy counter.

If you want to be hardcore go for this stuff though, it'll numb better than anything else you can readily get hold of legally (twice as strong as the Covonia):
