Loads of debate/nonsense about that Adnan Januzaj one day playing for England. HE WON'T EVER BE ELIGIBLE YOU FUCKING IDIOTS.

Errrr yes he can. I think you've been reading his wikipedia page which iimplies that he'll never be eligible because he doesn't qualify under this clause:

d) He has engaged in a minimum of five years education under the age of 18 within the territory of the relevant association.

But that's a load of old shite as it's a clause in the Home Nations Agreement which, as the name suggests, is only applicable to players wanting to gain eligibility for either England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland after having been born in another of the four.

Whereas FIFA statute, Article 17: Acquisition of a new nationality, states:[19]

Any Player who ... [assumes] a new nationality and who has not played international football [in a match ... in an official competition of any category or any type of football for one Association] shall be eligible to play for the new representative team only if he fulfills one of the following conditions:
 (a) He was born on the territory of the relevant Association;
 (b) His biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of the relevant Association;
 (c) His grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the relevant Association;
(d) He has lived continuously for at least five years after reaching the age of 18 on the territory of the relevant Association.

That last one means he could be eligible to play for England in five years as long as he stays at a English club and stays resident here.

Its exactly like Macheda, who made a brief impact for united but has now scored 3 in 5 on loan at Doncaster.

I see. Still, pointless debate.

Aside from that, the point DRS and Fola raise is pretty significant. And I can't imagine why he'd play for England when countries he actually has some affiliation with would want him.

Got an email saying I didn't get my Chinese work visa this morning. Balls.

All this fuss about Junjjajzjajzjjjzjjzjjj is only because he plays for one of the big six Premiership teams. If you're outside those teams you have to be fucking lucky to get called up at all (see Ricky Lambert).

 Wilshere: "If I went to Spain and lived there for five years, I'm not going to play for Spain."

If you had been born, raised, and lived all your life in Spain you wouldn't play for Spain.

No, but that's because you aren't anywhere near good enough to get in their team

I also can't see someone waiting 5 years for the off chance of playing international football, when 4 or more other nations could pick him now.

First that came to mind. If scoring 105 goals in 203 appearances and getting 15 in the Premier League last season and nearly half that many already this season is being a donkey, then I want to be a donkey. He's part of the England set up too late, much as Austin will be if he ever gets the chance to play for England.

I thought the home nations had an agreement that they would never pick anyone who obtained UK national status as an adult?  I remember when Arteta was being touted around that something like that was being said.

I'm sure I read the other week that Angel Rangel will never play for Wales despite qualifying under the FIFA rules, because the Welsh FA wouldn't consider him eligable for the very reason that he wasn't schooled here (and presumably he thinks of himself as Spanish etc)

Individual FA's can make their own decisions on principle obviously, but FIFA allow naturalised players in the verious ways I posted.
