Trivial things you don't understand/mildly annoy you

Went to Legoland on Sunday, adults go free, still £80 to get in for 2 children and 2 adults, plus £60 (15x4 people) on virtual queuing which I felt dirty for paying but thankful I could!
Managed to go on 17 rides if you include the crap ones, plus the 4D cinema, plus the miniland and star wars lego.
Not sure it was value for money mind..
Saw some Town fans at legoland. Anyone from here?

If you are feeling flush, going in the school holidays and have kids check out the q-bot and reserve them on line. There are 3 types, we had the basic. In theory you don't get on the rides quicker quicker with the basic than physically queuing, but you don't have to wait in line - you reserve a ride for a specific time. Most rides have a q-bot queue so once its buzzed you rock on up and join that queue (if any).

Of course once they have 'read' the q-bot for the ride you can reserve your next ride.

What we found in practice was that the q-bot wait time was a bit less than the real queue. And for the couple of rides the times were really long we reserved and went and did something else (look at lego/cinema/ride with very short queue).

We got lucky with the rapids (good ride, you get quite wet). It was closed, q-bot informed us it had re-opened so we got a slot 10 minutes after. Then when we got off the q-bot queue time was 15 minutes, even though the real queue was clearly much longer. So we went on again!

Q-bot aside (it is expensive) no real tips other than get there for opening and get to the ride you want to do most first (without q-bot and q-bot the next ride if you have it as soon as the park opens).

The park got busier as the day wore on, hence the tip to get there early.

Some of the rides were very average  in my opinion.

If you are going outside the school holidays, I'm not sure how busy it gets so none of the above may apply.

Not much option than to take kids in the school holidays when you get charged for taking them out of school during term time.

I've never been charged for taking kids out of holidays.  I'm taking my two to Orlando in October, through the half term but also using 4 days of school time.  Let them know in advance, make sure you offer to support them doing extra work if need be and it seems to go down fine.

For the theme parks, we went to Alton Towers in July for 3 days, not all schools had broken up as they are generally staggered over a week around the country, so either end of the holiday you should find a weekday where they are quiet.

I totally empathise with you Leggett. I've been trying to change my son for years now. Firstly, at 5 years old, then at 9 years old....now he's 19 years old and I've given up. Every adoption agency I've tried doesn't seem interested. I've weaned him from Aldi German brew, onto Carling, then Kronenburg. He still, like yourself, refuses every bottle I offer. Since he still pisses on my side of the bed, I've now told him to get his own room, however wonderful you think the experience might be. Sofa for me too.....until Monday.
