What did he say?

Reporter asked how difficult it was to compete against "£6.5 million Doyle" and "£2.5 Million Sigurdarson" and Allen said "Who's Sigurdarson?". Reporter told him he played for Wolves against them and he said "Really? He's 2 and a half mil?" and looked exasperated. Then put a big emphasis on how all his players were free transfers.

His name does have a lot of syllables.

In fairness, I watched Sigurdarson a lot when he played for Lillestrøm and I'm surprised he cost that much...

Not as surprised as I was knowing that Leicester City paid £1.3 million for Trevor Benjamin!

I keep seeing cyclists riding on the roads instead of cyclepaths and cyclists riding downhill at great speed in the middle of the road (it's very steep around where I live) which puzzles me. Why would you want to risk getting hit by bad drivers?

(P.S. so as not to offend the cycling fraternity on here, I realise that bad cyclists are in a minority and that bad drivers are far more numerous and dangerous)

DfT advice is that if you are riding at over 18mph it is better for your and other users safety to cycle on road rather than psychopath.

Don't know what it's like down there but in Lancaster when you take into account the people walking 4 a breast,  dogs on extending leads and broken glass the roads are probably safer on a road bike.

Mobile phone (Sony Xperia tipo) just wiped all my contacts for the second time in a fortnight. Took it into the EE shop and all they can do is send it back to their techies to be looked at and going to be a fortnight before I get it back. They gave me an old Samsung as a loan that has the smallest screen ever - need a magnifying glass to see what I am doing!

The 13 year old girl who has been found safe and well in Bradford after being missing for a week apparently being unaware that the Police were looking for her?  What did she expect after being missing for a week, especially since she's disappeared before?  A number of people have been arrested on suspicion of child abduction, yet she was picked up in the city centre, which doesn't sound like somewhere you'd take someone you'd abducted?  All rather strange.

One of the neighbour's kids toys has been left in their garden and keeps randomly making noises. Noticed it during the day on Saturday. Started doing it again about 4am this morning. Didn't hear it at all this afternoon when I got in from work, now it's piped up again just as I'm about to head for bed.

How little sleep can someone survive on.  Since the little one arrived I've not had more than a couple of hours each night, I'm also not someone who can sleep during the day or get back to sleep once woken up.

Less than you would imagine!

Don't worry, it gets better.

Only advice I can give is: 'Routine, routine, routine.'

Get the little one into a routine to teach them when it is time for bed and to sleep. Once you can crack that, the rest falls (slowly) into place.

The only advice I would give is don't listen to anyone's advice. Each baby's different and routine doesn't work for all. We hated the idea of routine as it's so restrictive and both our kids were fine. Do what's right for you and little one and smile politely when advice is given, then ignore it, no one's an expert, work it out for yourself.

Cheers guys

Kind of winging it at the moment whilst we figure out who she is and what she likes.  Strangely she doesn't cry, she makes a bit of noise for milk, change nappy, wind me please but we've had no tears so far.

Have to agree with NMH on this - routine is the key. If you have routine the baby knows what to expect and you know where you are. If you let the baby dictate then you are in for all kinds of trouble. My twins are 6 and still have a routine, same bed time same, meals times (ok not as regimented but still routine).

If you can get a routine in place then thats one less things you have to deal with.
